Senior Outdoor Education (Level 2 & 3)
We will be looking to bring outdoor education back as a subject in 2026. After our experienced Outdoor Education teacher ran term modules in 2025.

Queen Charlotte College is in an incredible location to get outdoors and learn in
the real world, from Queen Charlotte Sound to the Nelson lakes there is a huge
amount of adventure to be had.
Students will need a sense of adventure and a willingness to challenge themselves. These
courses are designed to be fun, hard, and develop a raft of outdoor, interpersonal and personal skills in the context of the outdoors.
Students will need to supply outdoor clothing and some basic outdoor gear. Technical gear will be supplied by the school or hired where necessary.
Staff – The course will be run by Qualified and experienced Outdoor Education teachers and instructors.
Outdoor pursuits will range from camping, tramping, bush skills, survival skills, alpine skills, mountain biking, rock climbing, sea kayaking, orienteering and ABL activities.
Level 1 Outdoor Education
This course will be a preparation course for our Level 2/3 course. You will cover a wide range of outdoor education pursuits to build up knowledge and skills in the outdoors.
