The staffing model of the Vision Valley Residential Program is designed to support the safety and needs of students, and meet with the intended outcomes of the program. The success of the Vision Valley Residential Program involves the dedication and commitment of multiple teams including Vision Valley teachers, outdoor educators and boarding staff, catering, cleaning, maintenance and logistics and management.
In addition, the Head of Vision Valley, Deputy Head of Vision Valley and key Upper School stakeholders provide significant support for students and provide a comprehensive overlay of resources. This layered support may include the College Psychologists and Chaplains.
All staff working on the Vision Valley Residential Program are fully informed about the expectations the College has for the care of students and they ensure that the policies, processes and procedures which apply to the school and the Vision Valley campus are consciously and effectively applied at all times.
All staff will undertake training to cover the processes, policies and procedures necessary for them to be able to fulfil their duty of care to students. Training will be organised for those areas mandated under Child Protection, Work Health and Safety and First Aid/CPR at a minimum.
Vision Valley management provide appropriate opportunities for staff to undergo relevant further training in areas such as Wilderness First Aid, Bronze Medallion/Pool Rescue (aquatic rescue skills), Youth Mental Health First Aid training, Provide Pain Management, Trauma-Informed Practices, Critical and Emergency Response and Risk Management.
