The Vision Valley Year 9 Residential Program is characterised as a safe, supportive and caring environment. All members of the Residential Program are asked to interact with each other in a caring, positive and meaningful manner and to support the intended outcomes of the program. The community will be a successful, thriving one when all members strive to live to the College values and adhere to the Code of Conduct which is values based and aims to encourage each student to demonstrate Care, Courage, Integrity, Respect and Responsibility in their interactions with others, decision making and their appearance.
The student Code of Conduct is marked by participants:
Having a mutual understanding, encouragement, care and support for all
Co-operating, respecting and demonstrating tolerance for both staff and fellow students
Being honest and always acting with integrity
Stepping up to opportunities for initiative and leadership
Specifically, students are requested to:
Be organised and on time
Respect individual’s personal space, boundaries and belongings
Be respectful, kind and inclusive to others and ourselves
Listen to others when they are speaking
Share communal spaces equally
Be grateful for, and open minded to the opportunities presented
Take chances and push oneself out of your comfort zone
Respect and abide by no mobile phones, laptops or smart watches/devices while on the program.
As part of the on-boarding process for the Residential Program, students will be briefed on; and requested to follow, the Vision Valley Residential Program Code of Behaviour together with the rules and an understanding of the consequences if these rules are breached. This is an important facet of the program to ensure successful community life.
