Sansevieria suffruticosa is an evergreen, succulent perennial native to Eastern Africa. The leaves are spreading upright, stiff, and cylindrical, with a central groove extending from the base to around halfway up the length of the leaf. It usually grows as a dense clump of upright leaves. The leaves are dark green with pale green transverse bands, featuring a smooth, glossy, and succulent texture. Their thickness and fleshy nature enable water storage, making the plant drought - resistant.

Though we have only grown this plant indoors, the Sansevieria suffruticosa group is noted for its relative cold tolerance and this plant may be able to be used outdoors in Southern California in locations such as under an eave that is sheltered from winter rainfall and frost.
