The governments of Fascism, Militarism, and Communism were somewhat new governmental ideologies by the beginning of World War II. These ideologies grew rapidly and they all have some traits in common - reverence for the leader (who was almost devine), little to no freedom, military expansion, and extreme suppression of ideas contrary to the government. Although it is true that World War II was a war between individuals and countries, it was also a war between government ideologies. At the end of the war, Fascism dies and militarism is greatly limited. However, Communism expands dramatically - mostly because the USSR was on the winning side.
