Throughout this project, I learned a lot about design and creating a graphic novel. Some of my biggest takeways were
Sizing - One of the biggest problems I came across was sizing issues. I didn't think very far ahead while creating the pages, and they ended up all being different sizes. At one point I was worried that I was going to have to completely redo pages or else important details would be cropped. Luckily, we were able to add a black border to some of the images to save them, but next time I'll make sure my dimensions are right.
Pacing - Some of the pacing in this first chapter isn't the best, and I also feel like some of the compositions are repetitive. However, I think this is an issue that will improve over time when I get more practice making more chapters.
Digital Art - Prior to this project, I had very little experience with digital art. I initally planned to do this entire project with traditional mediums including markers and pens, but I soon realized that I would need a lot of ink and it would get too expensive. So instead I decided to improve my digital art skills, and I definitely learned a lot! I feel way more comfortable with digital art now, which is important for me as I want to pursue illustration.
