---THE SYNOPSIS---
After the death of his father, Prince Oliver of Lochwood is sent away from his home kingdom to the kingdom of Archion, one of the few kingdoms yet to be plagued by war. Upon his arrival he meets the princess, Evelyn, and her friend, Lord Caspian. Their peaceful lifestyle begins to falter when King Walter of Archion, Evelyn’s father, makes it very clear that Oliver is no guest in his kingdom-- he’s a glorified prisoner of war. However, he has little time to worry over this before the trio is thrust into a royal ball like nothing they’ve ever seen. Princess Evelyn meets a potential suitor, Prince Julius, who quickly captures her heart. It takes no time at all for Julius to propose, and even less time for Evelyn to accept. The ball has a more sinister meaning behind it though, and after overhearing that Archion is about to enter the war, Caspian warns the prince and princess that they have to flee.
The trio makes their way to the kingdom of Saphedia, Caspian’s home and the kingdom of Evelyn’s childhood friend, Prince Lukas. Oliver finally has a chance to let his guard down and have fun, as the kingdom of Saphedia is in the middle of a festival. The fun doesn’t last forever though, as a slip of the tongue from Caspian shatters Oliver’s image of safety when he reveals that it was his job to kill Oliver during his first night back in Archion. Things continue to take a turn for the worse when the news breaks that the war was started by King Walter and Oliver’s mother, Queen Cora. With the trio split apart by their own conflict, they don’t even see the fire that would burn down the castle of Saphedia coming. Putting emotions aside the trio, now joined by Luke and Julius, must make the choice of their lives to defy their parents and end this war for power. As the battle approaches Evelyn and Julius’s relationship blossoms-- as well as Oliver and Luke’s. The fight of their lives will lead them to a harsh victory, as Oliver and Evelyn are faced with their traitorous parents and rebuilding what they’d destroyed.
A post-war reunion brings joy to all of the nobles, especially Evelyn and Julius who are planning their wedding. Julius suggests they have it in Dekya- an opulent and powerful empire that neighbors his own kingdom. The group is excited to travel somewhere new to help Evelyn and Julius plan their wedding, but something is still brewing on the horizon, as a friend prepares to become an enemy.
---THE SERIES---
Lies of Lochwood is the first in a planned trilogy, with the following books being Deceit of Dekya and Storm of Saphedia. Both are fully plotted out, and we've been working on the second book since finishing the first. As we write very sporadically and focus is currently on publishing book one, we do not have an estimated date of completion, though we can say it'll likely be in 2022.
Since this series has three main characters, each book focuses mainly on one of them. Book one is Oliver's, book two Evelyn's, and book 3 is Caspian's. Their stories remain closely intertwined, but each gets their chance to have the spotlight.
If you request to read the PDF of book one, we sincerely hope that you'll consider supporting our social medias (linked on our website!) and leaving a review on Twitter. It really helps a book get picked up if agents and publishers see that a novel already has interest before it's even released.
Sincerely, the Lies of Lochwood team.
