Unit 6:
Research & Write
Job Outlook
Job Outlook
For this unit, you will focus on the third topic of your paper - Job Outlook.
Use Google, one of the approved websites, or take a trip to the library to do some research. You need five (5) total sources for this paper, so you may only have one or two for this first topic.
Use your notes to write your first paragraph. Make sure to keep the Grammar Checksheet in mind!
ASSIGNMENT
TURN IT IN
Once you have completed your research and have taken notes, you will need to submit your source list and your notes to your instructor. Remember, your notes don’t have to be typed up. However, you will need to hand in your notes if they are handwritten. Your instructor will give them back. Send an email to your instructor to let them know you have completed the assignment.
For this first draft of your paragraph...don’t refer to your research yet. Just write down as much as you can remember about what you learned. This paper is about what YOU have learned about this career, so I want you to really think about your reactions and thoughts to the information you found.
After you have written in your own words what you have learned, then you can go in and insert some quotations that support what you have learned. It is important that the quotes support your writing and not the other way around. Read the information below about how to properly use quotations in your paper.
ASSIGNMENT
You can start by handwriting this assignment. However, you must type it in order to submit it.
You do not need to mention your notes at this point. You should only be writing your own thoughts down and what you remember about your research. This paragraph should only talk about the first topic: Job Requirements. Keep in mind that a paragraph includes at least 5 sentences.
Refer to Unit Four for all the details about revising your paper.
ASSIGNMENT
Take some time to proofread read (keep in mind the Grammar Checksheet) and make some revisions as needed before submitting your paper.
TURN IT IN
Before you submit your paper, make sure you have completed a revision.
