For this unit, you will focus on the first topic of your paper - Job Description.
Use Google, one of the approved websites, or take a trip to the library to do some research. You need five (5) total sources for this paper, so you may only have one or two for this first topic.
Use your notes to write your first paragraph. Make sure to keep the Grammar Checksheet in mind!

ASSIGNMENT
- Research - Using the information you read about in the previous unit to start researching your career choice. Refer back to you brainstorming sheets to see what types of things you want to know about.
- Record Sources - Keep track of the sources you choose to use. Type the source information into the Source Template that you downloaded to your Drive.
- Take Notes - Don't just read the information - take notes.
TURN IT IN
Once you have completed your research and have taken notes, you will need to submit your source list and your notes to your instructor. Remember, your notes don’t have to be typed up. However, you will need to hand in your notes if they are handwritten. Your instructor will give them back. Send an email to your instructor to let them know you have completed the assignment.
- Address the email to your instructor (contact information is located on page 1 of the workbook)
- The subject should include your last name and Resources and Notes 1
- The body of the email should start with a greeting, such as “Hello”
- After the greeting, let your instructor know that you have completed your research and have all the sources available for them to review

For this first draft of your paragraph...don’t refer to your research yet. Just write down as much as you can remember about what you learned. This paper is about what YOU have learned about this career, so I want you to really think about your reactions and thoughts to the information you found.
After you have written in your own words what you have learned, then you can go in and insert some quotations that support what you have learned. It is important that the quotes support your writing and not the other way around. Read the information below about how to properly use quotations in your paper.

ASSIGNMENT
You can start by handwriting this assignment. However, you must type it afterward in order to submit it.
- Create a new Google Doc in your "English 4" folder.
- In the far top left, name it “Rough Draft”
- Follow the MLA Document Formatting guidelines that you learned about in Unit 2 (the checksheet is in the "Resources" tab on the navigation bar).
