Beekeeper's Corner: Message from Miss Jordan
Special thanks to all who helped make our Week of Respect and School Violence Awareness Week activities a success! We had a terrific amount of student participation. Students completed activities such as signing the VPS pledge and completed activities about friendship and showing kindness to others. A big thank you to the Pennsville Police Officers who visited our classes!

Preschool Schedule on Early Dismissal Days
Please look for an informational letter that will be sent home prior to early dismissal days with updated information about your child’s plan that day. Regular Education preschool will be cancelled on 11/22 and all special education preschool students will attend the a.m. session. Thank you.
American Education Week
Parents/Guardians are invited to visit Valley Park on November 16th to observe the classroom for American Education Week during one of two sessions: 10:30-11:00 or 1:30—2:00pm. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact your students classroom teacher. PLEASE NOTE that only parents/guardians are invited to attend. We look forward to seeing you!
Tardiness
Student attendance is very important, including arriving to school on time. Tardiness is a component of good attendance. Circumstances do arise when a student may be tardy to school such as for a doctor’s appointment, etc.; however, excessively being tardy to school has become a problem that is affecting academic success. When students are tardy, everyone in the classroom is affected. Teachers have to take time away from delivery of instruction to catch-up students or to wait for students to come into the classroom and get ready to learn. Although the school bell rings at 9:10 am, students arrive at 8:55 and are given responsibilities during that time such as lunch count, unpacking back packs, getting materials organized, and beginning morning seat work and activities. When a student arrives late (after 9:10, the class is delayed and instructional time is lost.
Thank you for working with school staff to instill the value of getting to school on time on a regular basis.
