1–5 September 2025 - The Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University (PSU), warmly welcomed 30 students from the Faculty of Science, University of Malaya (UM). The five-day reciprocal mobility program was designed to strengthen academic exchange, cultural understanding, and collaboration between the two institutions.
The program began with opening remarks from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pimonsri Mittraparp-arthorn, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and International Relations. Students then engaged in a design thinking workshop led by Dr. Panu Thainiramit and enjoyed an academic tour in the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Natural History Museum guided by Dr. Kittichai Tongtherm.
The next day, participants explored the Forensic Science program at PSU through lectures and hands-on laboratory sessions with Asst. Prof. Dr. Korbua Chaisiwamongkhol and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phuvadol Thanakiatkrai. The experience allowed UM students to gain practical insights into drug abuse testing and body fluids analysis, while exchanging knowledge with PSU lecturers and peers.
Beyond the classroom, the program also highlighted the local culture and industry of Songkhla province. Students visited Chinwor Soy Sauce factory, explored Songkhla Old Town, and enjoyed the scenic atmosphere of Samila Beach. These activities provided meaningful cultural exposure and strengthened friendships between students from both universities.
The closing day concluded with heartfelt farewells as students reflected on their experiences in Hat Yai. The UM.Sci Mobility Program 2025 highlighted PSU’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and providing students with opportunities to learn, connect, and grow beyond borders. As part of this reciprocal initiative between the Faculty of Science, PSU, and UM’s Faculty of Science and Faculty of Computer Science and Technology, two more exchange visits are scheduled in the coming months.
