GSD students are active and engaged in the global community by participating in exchange programs, global trips, student dialogues, Global Speakers and more. Visit @pdsglobal to see their latest activities.
— WHAT IS —
GSD?
The Global Studies Diploma can be earned in addition to the Providence Day School diploma. Students will gain the knowledge, skills, and character dispositions to understand global systems, collaborate and communicate cross-culturally, and advocate solutions to global challenges.
— WHAT ARE THE —
Requirements?
To earn the Global Studies Diploma, students take a set of required and elective academic courses and engage in co-curricular experiences. Each student creates an individual portfolio that serves as an expression of their learnings and achievements through personal reflections and evidence of their work.

The Global Studies Diploma program features a leadership team of students representing the Sophomore, Junior, and Senior classes. The board supports and improves the program by serving as an advisory board for GSD Administration, providing input on events, promoting teamwork, contributing innovative ideas, mentoring, and facilitating team building within the GSD program. The board consists of co-leaders and grade-level representatives. The co-leaders are elected by the outgoing GSD Leadership Team, and grade representatives are determined by application and selection. The following students are the current co-leaders and board of the GSD program.
