GSD
EVENTS
As part of your co-curricular opportunities, you can engage in a variety of activities. We solicit your advice for global speaker ideas, and you can lead in choosing Model UN conferences, discussion topics, and much more. You are also encouraged to imagine new educational opportunities that you would like to help in facilitating on campus.
If you have any ideas, you should reach out to the current GSD Student Leadership Board (contacts on homepage).
Open the spreadsheet below and type your name into events that you will attend. The number in parenthesis denotes the limited space we have.
Obviously, do not erase other names as we can see the history of who has contributed to the spreadsheet.
Students and Faculty members have the opportunity to give and listen to presentations on global topics. These can include panel discussions, movie nights, slideshow presentations, or faculty presenting on their Global Educator Certificate trips.
Model United Nations (MUN) is a popular extracurricular activity among GSD students. You can represent countries or people in a variety of situations including futuristic, current day, and historical. For more info about MUN, contact Dr. Labbato
The GSD parters with organizations like the World Affairs Council of Charlotte (WACC) and UNCC to hear from engaging speakers and leaders in global fields.
If you have a particular speaker you want to hear from, email
a GSD board member.
Engage with other globally-minded students across the US and around the world through programs like Round Square Postcards and the Global Education Benchmark Group student dialogues. Click here to learn more about Round Square and PD's role within it.
