Travelling with Zombies

by Maria Fouka

Sandra ran and jumped on the train just before the doors closed. The first thing she saw was ... people. Not Zombies. It was not long ago that she watched that horror movie. She knew she would be scared... It included everything that she was afraid of. A lot of blood, zombies and murders. She had lost her sleep, so it's a miracle that she made it on time for the train, so early in the morning.

When she saw that she was going to travel not with zombies but with normal people, she felt relieved. She kindly asked where her seat was. Thankfully, it was next to the window, so she could see all the flowers that had bloomed over the course of spring. Sandra was mesmerised by the beautiful colours. She closed her eyes and enjoyed the breeze, while picturing herself running in the fields under the warm sun.

She was slowly falling asleep when she heard screams. They were not screams by humans. She opened her eyes. Zombies had invaded the train! There was blood everywhere. People were getting stabbed one by one. Some ran across the train, others hid, while some others tried to fight back. Sandra was paralysed with terror. There was nothing she could do. She silently got up and hid behind the luggage. How can zombies be real? How can everything from a movie come to life? This was not the train to Busan, this was the train to London!

Sandra was trying not to cry and make any noise. She was praying to make it out alive. Suddenly, a zombie started walking towards her. She could do nothing but scream loudly. She was about to be murdered by a zombie. Just like that! She started crying.

"Hello? Miss Kim? " She felt someone shaking her. "Are you all right?" Sandra opened her eyes. Her heart was beating real fast. There was no blood anywhere and she was alive. "Where am I?" she asked. The kind woman replied: "We are arriving in 10 minutes."

It seems that it was all just a dream.

Sandra made a promise to herself.

Never, EVER, watch a horror movie again!!
