On the first day of the 2nd Semester, I talked with our band students about grades and the importance of benchmarks, expectations, and playing assignments and practice so we can all grow and improve together.
Having a consistent way to grade and give feedback is essential when students receive their quarter or semester grade so they know why they received the grade they did, and what they can do to improve. In a constant effort to improve, those expectations have changed this semester.
FHS Bands Grading Policy
Each Semester will consist of multiple playing assignments and or Make Music Cloud Assignments where musicians will be required to submit recordings. Recordings will be listened to and musicians will be given feedback typically within 3 days of submission.. Students who successfully complete recordings by the due date will receive a score of an A or B based on the quality of the recording. Playing accuracy, intonation, correct notes and rhythms. Late assignments will be accepted for seven days past due date, but will receive a B for completion. Assignments that are left incomplete will receive a C.

Our 5th Disney payment date is right around the corner on Feb. 21st. Thank you for keeping up on your payments! The sooner you pay off your trip the better as we are now making all our large payments for the trip to Disney, the airlines, hotel, and so on.
