The band department is looking forward to sharing our Winter Concert on Dec. 19th @ 7pm in the Franklin Auditorium with you, please join us. You can buy tickets here or at the door - More info below regarding tickets. The Lightning Band Boosters are also having a bake sale for the event and student groups will be playing holiday carols in our foyer prior to the show.
In other news, all of the tuxedos are in and ready for pick up at Mr. Formal (1103 SE 7th Ave). Just tell them you are from Franklin and they should have your tuxedo ready to go. Please try it on and make sure it fits to your liking. If you need a pair of black dress shoes they can be purchased there for an affordable price. Dresses will arrive at Franklin on Monday and will be distributed to those who requested them. They also come with a shrug and will need to be taken to our tailor to be hemmed and fitted to your liking. This cost is also covered by your outfit payment.(Khanh Tailors and Alterations 7824 SE Division St).

We are wrapping up the season with the Winter Band Concert on Thursday, December 19th at 7:00pm. All of the band ensembles will perform including Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble/Drumline, and the Wind Ensemble. There will also be a bake sale full of delicious treats by the Lightning Band Boosters, and holiday carols in the foyer. TRAVELING AND PERFORMING IN DISNEYLAND IN MARCH IS FAST APPROACHING! Trip Dates: March 21st- March 24th.
Our 3rd Disney payment date is right around the corner on Dec. 20th.
Make sure to remind your musicians that having the opportunity to travel to Disneyland with their band is a gift! Go ahead and make payments at the payment link below. This schedule is to help manage costs on any given month and also to allow fundraisers along the way to help defray the costs for our musicans and families.

Citrus Delivery is this Friday. Dec. 13th. Make sure to come by the band room after school to pick up your boxes of oranges and grapefruit so you can deliver them over the weekend. If you sold citrus and conferences, you are responsible to get those to teachers and families that ordered from you.
Formal Performance Attire for the Year
All of your TUXEDOS are ready for pick up at Mr. Formal. (1103 SE 7th Ave, Portland, OR 97214) Please stop by and pick up your outfit this week. Take the time to try it on to make sure everything fits before you leave so you are happy. If you ordered a dress and shrug, pick those up from Mr. Owens in the band room. We have compiled signups for all the upcoming band events this winter. We have an exciting line-up of FHS Lightning Band events happening. We can always use a hand if you can spare the time. I have given a brief synopsis of each signup link within this email.

This is a collection of volunteer opportunities for a variety of events. It includes: signup for manning the Band Info table at the Teacher Conferences, volunteering for the Citrus Fundraiser disbursement, help with Performing at Peacock Lane, and volunteers for the Future Lightning Concert with the middle schools.
