FHS Jazz Ensemble

The FHS Jazz Ensemble and Jazz program at Franklin High School performs throughout the school year in various venues in and around Portland both as a large swing band and in smaller Jazz combo settings.  Our curriculum focuses on listening to jazz and the jazz greats, learning the art of transcription, jazz articulation and various other musical concepts within the jazz ensemble setting.  Students in the Jazz program are expected to participate in one of our large concert ensembles concurrently with jazz enrollment.
