There are several on-line resources where information can be found:
Internet/Intranet/Extranet/search engines
There are many sources of information on the Internet, but care must be taken to make sure the information is up-to-date and from a reliable source. Benefits of using the Internet include Keyword searches, Interactive resources, editable information, copy and paste pictures/diagrams into reports, wider choice/variety of information available, current information, easier/quicker to search for information/easier to google, can get lots of results faster than reading books
Intranet
A business or organisation may have an Intranet where useful information may be stored.
Email experts/specialists
Book might be available, email could give faster response
Post questions on bulletin boards/Forums
Reach wider audience of experts
CD based software or Online encyclopaedias
CD easier/lighter to carry, keyword searches, copy and paste pictures/diagrams into reports, editable information, current information, easier/quicker to search for information.
