These have come about following Western Greyhound's decision to withdraw the 510. Since we first learned of this we've been working closely with both Devon and Cornwall County Councils to see how we could ensure local residents still have access to a regular, reliable bus service. Key points of the new service are: Our Bude - Holsworthy - Okehampton - Exeter route to be renumbered from X9 to 6The new timetable maintains key journeys from the existing 510 timetable in addition to our existing X10On the 6 there will be two Sunday/Bank Holiday journeys between Bude and ExeterWhy the change to 6/6A? Well, 6 was the number used by Devon General for its service to Okehampton between 1930s and 1970s. The new service brings all services between Exeter and Okehampton into one timetable giving season Stagecoach ticket holders more journey choices, and a “new” number seemed like a good way to highlight this!"

Service extended to operate between Bude and Okehampton Railway Station, every 3 hours Monday to Saturday."Comments: There are significant changes to the route and timetable of Service 6/6A from 30 October 2022, which are designed to simplify the timetable and ensure the service is commercially viable.Service 6 and Service 6A will both operate between Bude and Okehampton approximately every three hours Monday to Saturday daytime, with the route extended to and from Okehampton Railway Station.  Some additional journeys will operate at peak times to facilitate school, college and commuter flows. All journeys on Service 6A will operate the current Service 6A route, which serves Sticklepath and Whiddon Down. Passengers wishing to travel across Okehampton will benefit from co-ordinated timetables between Services 6 and 6A, however, will be required to change buses at Okehampton Railway Station. The timetables of Services 6 and 6A are designed to facilitate connections between them, as well as connections with GWR rail services to Crediton and Exeter St David’s.Devon County Council are currently looking at potentially procuring a Sunday and Public Holiday timetable. A number of enhancements are introduced between Exeter and Okehampton on Route 6A. Several journeys will connect with Service 6 at Okehampton allowing customers to board the bus in Exeter and travel straight through to Bude. Additional journeys are also introduced Monday to Saturday, with up to 11 journeys operating between Okehampton and Exeter, reducing time between departures to just one hour in a number of cases.
