Stagecoach has announced further cuts to its bus services, this time axing vital buses that transport pupils to and from a large Exeter secondary school. As of April 1, the bus operator will no longer be running three buses from different parts of the city to St Peter's Church of England School in Quarry Lane on the edge of Broadfields and Middlemore. The school says it has been told the decision by Stagecoach has been made for 'commercial reasons' due to the increased costs of providing the service and staff shortages. It added the shortfall cannot be supplemented by Devon County Council to keep the buses running. The council's Transport Co-ordination Service is said to have confirmed that all journeys are still achievable and at relevant times, but may require changing buses along the route.
