It’s important to take a break from all of our investigating and inventing!
Students were able to explore our Learning Garden during Odyssey times.
Students learned about the process of growing vegetables and fruits from seeds, how we harvest, and how the irrigation system keeps our plants watered.
Questions we asked the students were: why do you think this plant hasn’t grown very well, what could be growing underground here? (carrots), and did you grow a garden this summer at your home?
Mrs. Maxwell (Brentwood) led her students in a yoga break to stretch their muscles and to enhance their focus for when they returned to finish up their Invent Odyssey.
Imagination Igniter # 5 explained how Mrs. Ballinger was able to propagate new plants from scraps. The ginger root she replanted is now growing at the lab as well as a seed from a lemon. Yes, we are growing a lemon tree!
Did you know that even after the fruits and vegetables are picked, they don’t have to stop growing?
