Rubric 3 Monitoring Student Progress: Examine the quality of assessment tasks used to monitor student progress.
Decide if you want to use the Sheet or Doc version of the Guiding Document.
On VT.R3.01. Rubric 3 Guiding Document:
modify Tab 5.Strength/Limit to reflect how many parts groups you have by adding or deleting columns which are currently labeled “Ch1, Ch2, Ch3,...”. You will need to make this modification for SEP, CCC, and EP&Cs.
Choose to keep or delete Tab 1a. Rubric 3 Components (mod of H19) based on how you wish participants to engage with the rubric at the beginning of their work.
This modification allows the participants to first reflect on their understanding of the components and compare with the language of the indicators. The intent of this modification is to sharpen participants’ Rubric-based lens prior to engaging with the curriculum, ultimately better preparing them to score at the end.
If you keep Tab 1a. Rubric 3 Components (mod of H19), modify it so that the amount of participant columns in the pre-think and the post-dropdown selection matches the amount of participants you have.
Please note that the pre-think part of this activity could also be done via a Jamboard (one component per board), an option which is logistically more feasible if you have over a handful of participants.
Modify the following documents to be reflective of the amount of participants you have:
VT.R3.06. Rubric 3 - Strengths and Limitations (H18/H20): Duplicate the Participant tabs and label them with names.
VT.R3.07. Teacher Support Evidence Chart: Monitoring Student Progress (H21): Duplicate the Participant tabs and label them with names. For smaller groups, all of the Teacher Support Evidence Charts from Rubrics 1, 2, and 3 could be combined into one sheet and placed in the Rubric 4 folder for convenience.
Make copies of VT.R3.04. Essential Questions/Performance Assessment Jamboard based on whether you would like it to be collaborative at a whole group level or within small groups, and label it accordingly.
Make one copy of the VT.R3.05. Monitoring Student Progress - Evidence (H17) form and ensure that participants do not have editing rights, but can only submit to it. Ensure they do not try to make a copy of it but they understand that all participants are submitting to the same form.
