Reading and Writing for Life is embedded in the Essential Skills and College and Career classes. Students learn to write in ways that are more functionally relevant. Students learn about effective resumes and cover letters, eventually finalizing both to take with them as they leave GAP. They also complete sample job applications and practice writing formal emails to supervisors. Lastly, they practice other functional writing skills, such as completing online forms, writing a letter of complaint, and reading about happenings within their community.
