In this class, students gain exposure to a variety of necessary money management skills. Through formulating psuedo as well as real budgets and bank accounts, students learn spending habits, pay typical bills, and practice effective saving techniques. Through stock analysis and mock investing, students gain an understanding of both short-and-long-term investments. Through presentations from outside experts, students gain insight to the banking world, including savings products, loans, checking accounts, and more. Through use of the IRS' website and resources, students learn about proper tax documentation and filing. Other lessons include loans, interest rates, credit and credit cards, understanding pay stubs and deductions, and other factors of adult financial proficiency.
