I have always loved the great tradition of Piano Solo Jazz, which I believe is essential for a contemporary pianist.
Perhaps for this reason, for years I have had the good fortune to be called upon to play in the most disparate situations and settings, often wonderful and stimulating, such as in the courtyard/garden of an ancient Apulian farmhouse for an aperitif/dinner at sunset... or in the open countryside, in the middle of a truly precious vineyard, on the exact day of the summer solstice, in a sort of Bacchic celebration... or even by the sea on the night of the longest lunar eclipse of the century... in short, anywhere you can to place a good piano (preferably a grand) for a real concert, perhaps a themed one, or even just for discreet but suggestive and refined entertainment.
Precisely thanks to this wealth of stimuli and requests, my repertoire and style have expanded and enriched, over time, from a "typical" form of jazz standards with improvisation to something even more interesting and articulated.
Thanks to the "challenges" received and accepted from time to time from the various clients, in the piano solo that I have chosen to define precisely as the ITALIAN MUSIC GARDEN, today you can listen to a great variety of genres and styles: international pop hits, rock, soul, late 19th century Neapolitan song classics (“the universal birth of songwriting”), a careful and personal selection of jazz standards, some gems of Italian songwriting but also some “underground” references… all in very personal arrangements, often unusual, rich in that essential groove and that refined taste for improvisation inspired by the great favorites of the jazz piano tradition such as Bobby Timmons, McCoy Tyner, Keith Jarrett, Brad Mehldau, etc.
Soon these experiences will be collected in a recording work.
