8th to 9th grade transition

Middle school flies by for students and their families. The ACMS staff enjoys taking the time to look back and see how much growth students have made within just a short period of time. The transition from middle to high school is just as important as the transition from elementary to middle school. Entering high school is also viewed as a "process" rather than an "event". Preparations for the transition begin early. To learn more about the transition from middle to high school, please see the information provided below.

TRANSITION TIMELINE:

To help prepare 8th grade students for high school, Pewaukee High School provides different activities to support students through this transition. Some of these activities include:

  • PHS Counselors meet with 8th grade students to review the scheduling process

  • 8th grade scheduling -- with the support of information from the high school, students select their courses online through Skyward.

  • Freshmen Orientation Night (hosted by PHS)

  • "Welcome to the High School" activities (planned by PHS)

The counselors assist students and families throughout the transition process. At the high school there are three school counselors. Students are assigned to a counselor based on their last name. These high school counselors are:

  • Angie Lewek

  • Amanda Sorkness

  • Katie Williams

If you have further questions about the scheduling or transitioning process at the high school, please contact HS Counseling Secretary Koren Ewert at (262)-695-5011. You will then be directed to the appropriate counselor.
