Principals, Vice Principals and/or Office Managers should automatically have access to the SIS Student Placement Database and VISTA NTIP/Side by Side Table.
The SIS Student Placement Database is used to identify associate teachers who are willing to host teacher candidates. This system is used in collaboration with the schools and Human Resources to match teacher candidates with associate teachers. It is important to keep the system up to date by entering the names of all interested and eligible teachers at the school who would like to be considered as an associate teacher.
VISTA NTIP/Side by Side Table is used to identify all NTIP eligible teachers in Year 1 and Year 2 at each school location. It is a ministry requirement that all Year 1 NTIP teachers be paired with a mentor and recommended that Year 2 NTIP teachers be paired with a mentor. The names of each assigned mentor must be entered into the VISTA NTIP/Side by Side table by an administrator or office manager. It is critical to keep this system up to date as the number of mentors in the system is a required piece of data used when calculating NTIP funding by the Ministry of Education.
