Course Description
Students at St Luke’s will have completed the Preliminary Design and Technology course by the end of term 3 of their year 10 studies. Students can elect to begin the HSC Course in term 4. In the HSC students study the design factors and how they relate to innovative products through a case study approach of innovations in Australia. They also complete a major project and accompanying portfolio in an area they are passionate about. Students can create a product, system or environment. Students can choose to work in any material they have available to them. This could be non-traditional “materials” such as music, writing, drama, art works, graphics or they can utilise the manufacturing equipment available to construct physical products.
