We are learning how to use a timetable.
I can read my timetable.
I am able to understand the codes used on the timetable to find classrooms.
I am able to use my timetable to get organised for each day,
The school timetable allows you to know the exact time and duration of each class period. For SPMC, having a timetable allows over 1000 students and teachers to prepare for and participate in learning every day.
Without a school timetable, you would have no idea how to prepare for the day, when to go to lockers If you have one), when to have a break, how much transit time you have before you are late for class, who their teachers are or where your lesson is to be held.
The SPMC Timetable
At SPMC we have a two-week or 10 day timetable. We have a Week A and a Week B. So after a fortnight, lessons repeat.
Then we have a daily routine. Our day starts at 8:45am and ends at 3:15pm. We have 5 periods a day, each one goes for 60 minutes. Our day works like this:
Homeroom
Periods 1 & 2
Break 1
Periods 3 & 4
Break 2
Period 5
Each Thursday we have 2hours of sport, so things look a little different:
Homeroom
Periods 1 & 2
Break 1
Period 3
Break 2
Sport
You even get an early finish - 2:30pm!
Here is a Year 7 timetable for one week, Monday to Friday. With your teacher, can you identify:
All this week's subjects?
This week's classrooms?
Are there any double periods?
What days might you need to bring a sports uniform to school?
Do you know where you can find the classrooms on the timetable?
How do you know which day is Thursday?
Is there one thing you have to go to every day?
