Week beginning - Monday 16th March 2026
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!
At the beginning of this week, we were very busy preparing for the Parental Engagement events. We appreciate the support (and patience) of those who were able to attend, all of the children were fantastic taking on various roles from researcher, to scribe, to narrator, to prop-maker and all were part of performing.
In maths, we have revisited long-division (one of the more tricky skills required for the SATs), prime numbers, factors and multiplying by 2-digit numbers.
In science, we have explored how light travels in straight lines and how it reflects off of objects, allowing us to see them. We have been able to make links to the Blitz with this, considering how it was necessary to use black-out blinds to avoid being seen by enemy aircraft.
Within our inquiry, we have started practicing skills to allow us to create a piece of art which represents the Blitz. Make sure you ask your children for more information!
A big thank you from Mrs Smythe to the children who submitted information about their plastic for the Big Plastic Count, and to the parents who helped them/contributed themselves.
