Week beginning - Monday 16th March 2026
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!
There has been a literal and metaphorical buzz across all three classes this week as the children continued to develop their electric board games. It has been wonderful to witness such vibrant partner discussions and group collaboration; the classrooms are alive with 'lightbulb moments'. We have been particularly impressed by the resilience shown by our young inventors. Designing a circuit is rarely a one-shot success, and the children have been brilliantly testing, adjusting, and troubleshooting their designs with great determination. The level of creativity on display is staggering, and the children are counting down the days until they can showcase their final products!
In maths, we have been diving deeper into the world of fractions, specifically exploring mixed numbers and improper fractions. The children have approached these new concepts with incredibly open minds, acting as "pattern seekers" to see how these fractions look in different forms. It has been great to see their confidence grow as they get to grips with these building blocks before we move on to converting them next week.
Our SPaG lessons have been equally busy. We’ve been acting as "word detectives" to see how prefixes can completely flip the meaning of a root word. We also took a deep dive into the confusing world of homophones. We’ve discovered there are far more than we first thought, but the children are becoming experts at picking the right word for the right job!

Isla consistently embodies all of our learner attributes in everything she does. This week she has been an excellent communicator as she works with her group to bring their electric board game to life. She has welcomed her groups' ideas, ensuring every perspective was integrated into their final design. She truly knows how to empower those around her. Well done!
