Week beginning - Monday 16th March 2026
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!
This week in Year 5, we have been busy exploring a range of exciting topics across the curriculum. In inquiry, we began planning our own newspaper reports, focusing on human actions and their impact on the environment. Pupils demonstrated strong communication skills as they shared ideas and structured their reports thoughtfully. Our inquiry learning continued to explore how human activity affects life cycles and food chains. The children used their research and thinking skills to ask questions, make connections, and deepen their understanding of the world around them.
In PSHE, we focused on respect by exploring stereotypes and prejudice. Pupils showed they are becoming increasingly open-minded, reflecting carefully on different perspectives and how their actions can positively impact others.
In design and technology, we have continued designing our bird feeders, applying creativity and problem-solving as we prepare for the building stage. In PE, we developed our hockey skills, focusing on attacking and defending strategies, while demonstrating teamwork and clear communication on the field.
It has been a fantastic week of learning—well done, Year 5!
