It has been great to be back-to-school. We have been settling into our classes and becoming reacquainted with one another and meeting new teachers and students. Our learning has focused on reviewing our existing understandings as well as launching into our new Unit of Inquiry. In mathematics we have been reviewing our understanding of place value whilst our skills lessons have been spent reviewing our knowledge of word classes and sentence structures. Our inquiries initially focused on differences between animal species (we will find out why in the weeks to come), before conducting some research into climates around the world and the causes and consequences of these. We will end the week, writing our own reports to summarise and explain our findings. Through computing, we have examined websites to help us decide what makes them effective and good communication tools.
