Week beginning - Monday 1st December 2025
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!Â
This week Year 3 have been challenging themselves and stepping into their teachers' shoes. The children have chosen to research a natural disaster that we haven't yet looked at from tsunamis to avalanches. The children will then use their research notes to create a lesson to share with the rest of the class. There are a number of different ways they can present their lesson. Some will use google slides, some will act out a dramatic scene and all will come with an informative handout. We can't wait to see how they all get on.
This week also saw the Year 3 classes take part in their auditions to get into Paddock Wood's Got Talent in the last week of term. Well done to all the children involved, it was great to see how brave you all were getting up in front of everyone and it was amazing to see such a wide range of talents, from gymnastics and dancing to singing and puppet shows. We will find out about the finalists on Friday.

Bertie has been the living embodiment of STRIVE this week! In every lesson Bertie has ensured he was listening and participating at every step and setting a wonderful example to others. He has been a principled, open-minded thinker all week, eager to showcase his learning and explore new concepts and ideas. Superb effort Bertie, I'm very proud of you!

You have embraced our inquiry learning this week with great enthusiasm. You have worked with others to share ideas, been more focused on completing tasks and researched your chosen natural disaster (flooding) carefully and mindful of your audience. Well done Teddy.

In maths, Henry has continued to showcase how knowledgeable he is as we have looked at multiplication and division. Henry has been providing the class with in depth descriptions of his methods to solve problems, which usually involve squaring the number, inversing the square of following number and then dividing by the square root of his shoe size. Magical Maths as always Henry, keep it up.
