Week beginning - Monday 1st December 2025
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!
This week we have had such a fun week writing our letters to Santa as part of our Inquiry learning. We are very proud of the children for working hard to form most of their letters accurately. We posted the letters in a post box on the way to the church. Once we reached the church we had a wonderful puppet story about the nativity. As part of our child initiated learning children had the opportunity to think about the celebration of Christmas. They loved decorating the Christmas trees in class.
In maths this week, we have been learning one more and one less up to 5 and the composition of 4. This is finding all the ways we can make four, for example, 3 and 1, 4 and 0. The children have been fantastic at this! Ask your child to show you how they can make this number in different ways. Next week, we will be finding different ways to make 5.
In phonics, we have learnt the sounds f, ff and ss. We have been working really hard on our blending and segmenting and our letter formation. We have introduced the tricky words 'and' and 'this'. Please do try and support your children with this at home as well as practice makes perfect! Please make sure you write in your child's reading record so that we know which books they have read. We would like to say a huge thank you to those of you who have brought your child's nativity costume in already, if you haven't yet, please could we have them in as soon as possible. We have been practising hard and can't wait to show you! We would also like to say thank you for the envelopes and stamps!

Lily-Mae has impressed us in all aspects of her school learning this week. She has been kind and caring to her peers. She has been concentrating more which is enabling her to be ambitious in her learning outcomes. Her writing is also coming along beautifully. Well done!

For being a caring, principled learner. Tommy-Lee has shown us how kind, sensible, and helpful he is this week. He truly strives to do his absolute best in every single area of his learning and we are happy to have such a dedicated member of the class. Keep up the great work!

Congratulations to Gian this week for being the peak performer. Gian has been reflective this week by getting better and better at his performance in the nativity practices. Gian has grown in confidence and it is lovely to hear his wonderful singing! Well done Gian!
