Update from the SENDco
Mr Tippett's SENDco Update
INCLUSION
This term we have brought back SENCo Surgeries but widened their scope to include more than just Special Educational Needs. To reflect this, we have called them Inclusion Consultations. We want all children to be safe and secure in school, to be happy, to thrive and to learn. The purpose of these consultations is to provide an opportunity to discuss any concerns or worries that you have in relation to your child's experience of school.
They take place on a Thursday afternoon between 2:00 and 3:00pm.
There are three slots you can book into to speak to Mr Tippett (Inclusion Lead) and Mrs Foster (Deputy Safeguarding Lead).
They are an informal chat.
No issue is too big or too small to discuss.
If you would like to book a Consultation please make contact with Mrs Foster via Dojo.
CLASS+
CLASS+ works across East Sussex supporting families of young people with autism. It offers a weekly advice line, signposting, support groups, training for parents and short pieces of home-based support for school aged children. They have a Facebook Page or can be contacted on
01273 336887. Parents/Carers have to self-refer; we are unable to do this for you.
They also run Coffee and Chat Sessions
CLASS+ Coffee & Chat Sessions
CLASS+ regularly offer sessions for parents and carers of an autistic child or a child who is on the autism pathway. This allows them to:
Listen,
Share questions,
Share ideas, and
Share experiences with other parents and carers.
You do not need to book to attend these events, you just need to turn up. Don't worry if you can't get there for the start of the session, you can drop in at any time during the sessions. We kindly ask that you don’t bring small children to these sessions.
