Scholarship: Fort Hays State University - Automatic Tiger Freshman Scholarships


Description: FHSU offers first-time, full-time, on-campus freshman students the opportunity to receive an automatic and renewable scholarship based on a combination of their ACT/SAT score and GPA. Students may be eligible to receive up to $15,000 in scholarship funds automatically.


By taking the ACT or SAT and providing your high school transcript, an incoming freshman could be eligible for one of four scholarship programs that are based on the student's highest composite ACT/SAT score and high school GPA.


To apply for one of the Freshman Academic Awards:

  1. self-report your scores and high school GPA on your FHSU applications for admission,

  2. self-report your scores and high school GPA at admissions/scholarships/freshmen

  3. submit your scores to FHSU through ACT by coding 1408 or SAT by coding 6218 on your exam and submit your high school transcript, or

  4. send a copy of your ACT/SAT test results and high school transcript to the Scholarship Services Office.

In order to receive a Tiger Pride Scholarship, Victor E. Scholarship, Black and Gold Scholarship, or Hays City Scholarship, ACT/SAT scores and high school transcript must be received by FHSU before June 15. All freshman academic awards offered to students but not accepted are VOID after July 1.
