Each morning, our classes take part in The Daily Mile – a simple, inclusive, and enjoyable way to help every young person become more active, improve their wellbeing, and start the day ready to learn. Our young people spend around 15 minutes walking at their own pace, building stamina and developing healthy habits for life.
To enrich this daily routine, each week’s Daily Mile is linked to a Curriculum for Excellence (CfE) Experience and Outcome, creating meaningful learning opportunities across the curriculum while keeping children active and outdoors.
Why we do the daily mile:
Improves concentration and readiness to learn
Supports mental and emotional wellbeing
Encourages healthy routines and independence
Creates opportunities for cross-curricular learning outdoors
Celebrates personal challenge rather than competition
The Daily Mile is an important part of our school’s commitment to health, wellbeing, and high-quality learning experiences for every child.
