Systems of Layered Support

In our MTSS Structure, each building will have multiple teams and layers of data driven support.

Our MTSS model is a system of layered supports and is different than a traditional support model in that it focuses on adding value to a learner's experience.  All students participate in Tier 1 Instruction.  Some students, approximately 10 - 15% of students, participate in Tier 1 instruction and Tier 2 intervention concurrently.  Some students, approximately 5% of students, participate in Tier 1 instruction and Tier 3 intervention concurrently.  In no instance does Tier 2 or Tier 3 instruction replace Tier 1 instruction.

Tier Movement

All students remain in Tier One. Additional Tiered supports add value to what is occurring in Tier One. During review meetings, teams will review current data and trend lines to determine movement within Tiers. This movement is fluid, with students moving between Tiers Two and Three based upon currently demonstrated needs for support.
