I've always loved the art of photogarphy and the idea telling a story in a single frame. Photography can be so different from videography, but the challenge is so exciting. Leading my staff as head director, I try to make sure that I am informed in as many different aspects of journalism as possible to best lead them. Learning photography was one of the many skills I tried to grow in for the betterment of my staff. I believe there's so much joy that comes from photojournalism. Taking a picture and then being so proud of yourself is so amazing. Even though the opportunites for me are slim, try to get out and take pictures every time I am able to. Below, I have attached many photos from throughout my high school career.
Being the manager of creative content for Oxford football, I am able to go to practices throughout the season to get content to post every game week. Here I have added some of my favorite pictures I've taken at various football practices this season.
These pictures show a collection of pictures I took at the OHS baseball team's game at South Panola. Shooting baseball allows me to be more creative as there are so many different ways to capture the game. Also because of the slow pacing of the game, it allows me to be able to adjust easily througout the duration of the game.
In January of 2025, Oxford received a snow storm that shut down the town for the day. When it was safe enough to travel on the roads, I drove to the school as I knew the pictures of the snow would be a really cool collection to have.
One of my favorite parts of our production days is giving the athletes a chance to take whatever pictures they want to. We have some that we need, but everything else we leave up to them. Attached are some of my favorites pictures I've taken at our 4 production days from this year.
In the 2022-2023 school year, the Oxford School District introduced a new multi million dollar baseball and softball complex. Attached are some photos that I captured of some parts of the facility to announce the opening of the complex.
These pictures attached capture the OHS basketball teams as they face off against Calhoun City High School. Photographing sporting events has always been my favorite place to photograph because of my love for sports.
In 2023, the OHS Theatre Department produced the play CLUE. I was given to opportunity to photograph the play for a page in the newspaper that month. Theatre is one of the most challenging things to photograph because of the fast changes in lighting and the constant movement.
