In this assignment, I was tasked with researching and analyzing scholarship opportunities that aligned with my academic and personal goals. The project required me to explore multiple scholarships, understand their specific requirements, and craft compelling essays that demonstrated my qualifications and aspirations. Through this process, I wrote three distinct essays one focused on my passion for mechanical engineering and aerospace exploration, another detailing my journey of finding my voice through learning English and public speaking, and a third emphasizing my commitment to community and collaborative leadership. In the end, I received a 100 on this project, which counted as a significant grade.
In this assignment, I had to research the history of inflation in the United States. I searched online for three articles about how inflation rates changed over time, then read and analyzed them. My research covered three important time periods: the early 1980s when inflation was very high because of the Cold War and problems in Iran, the mid-1960s when the government spent too much money and caused prices to rise, and the 1970s when oil shortages made everything more expensive. For each article, I wrote paragraphs explaining what caused inflation and how it affected people. This assignment taught me that inflation happens for different reasons like wars, government spending, and oil prices. I learned how to find reliable sources and write about economic topics. After finishing, I felt ready to discuss what I learned with the class
In this assignment, I was given the task of learning about Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) and why they matter for businesses. Using online resources and what we learned in class, I answered questions about what an LLC is, how to start one, and why business owners need them. I researched important topics like operating agreements, tax benefits, and how LLCs protect business owners from losing their personal belongings if the business has problems. The assignment also had me explain terms like pass-through taxation, double taxation, and tax write-offs. After doing my research and organizing my answers, I wrote a paragraph explaining why having an LLC is important when starting a business. I felt good about my understanding of how LLCs work and how they help protect people who own businesses. In the end, I received a 100 on this assignment, showing that I understood the material well.
Looking back at this assignment, I can see several areas where I fell short and could have done much better. The biggest problem was that I didn't finish the assignment completely—I left several questions blank at the end and didn't define all the terms I was supposed to. I also didn't take enough time to write complete, detailed answers. Many of my responses were too short and didn't fully explain the concepts, like just writing "down, the value of the dollar goes down because supply and demand" instead of giving a thorough explanation. I could have improved by managing my time better and making sure I watched both videos completely and took good notes. I should have also defined all the required terms properly instead of leaving some blank or incomplete. My answers had grammar and spelling errors that I could have fixed by proofreading before submitting. If I could do this over, I would start the assignment earlier, watch the videos carefully, write out full answers in complete sentences, and make sure every single question and definition was completed before turning it in. This experience taught me that rushing through assignments and leaving work incomplete hurts my learning and my grade.
