This was our second assignment of the program, and it was to analyze a 'forged check' using a court chart. The objective of this assignment was to take examples from known evidence and questioned evidence to be able to see if the handwriting belonged to the person accused. In this case, I had to compare my accused person (Talya Lema) to the questioned check. Using this strategy, I prepared 2 comparisons with letter style and two with numbers. I observed that she used disguised handwriting to write this check, as the signature was written fast. I enjoyed this assignment because it introduced me to how handwriting analysis works in forensic science. These observations were challenging to get because the limited knowledge that I had on this topic and the amount of understanding of it. What I learned from this assignment is how to use different factors, like letter angles and familiar writing skills, to identify a suspect. What I could improve from this assignment is to next time ask for more help instead of struggling on my own.
This was our second to last assignment of the program, and it was to create a case study based on a case that we researched. The secondary objective of this assignment was to use this case to further analyze the forensic aspect of the case including forensic evidence. On this assignment I worked with Tseyone to be able to decode the case of Eric Rudolph and how forensics was incorporated in his case. I appreciated my work on this assignment because the practice I did for this asssignment paid off and I barely stuttured throughout the presentation. I enjoyed this assignment because it basically put all my knowledge about what I learned in the past five weeks all together. With these peices of knowledge I was able to score a 190/200 or 95% on this assignment. What I learned from this assignment is to be confident in myself when presentation because when I was this time I was very proud of how I did.
