Pit Orchestra partners with OPHS Theater to perform live music during the annual spring musical. This is a great way to gain experience playing as a live orchestra for a large score.
Pit Orchestra provides student musicians a wonderful opportunity to work with thespians to produce an annual musical theater production. OPHS's pit orchestra has been nominated for the prestigious Jerry Herman Awards numerous times and represents a dedicated group of musicians passionate about extending their education and performing a wide variety of genres.
Instrumentation varies and instrument doubles may be encouraged depending on sign ups.
In the past, we've played Beauty and the Beast, the Music Man, Chicago, Pippin, The Addams Family, Something Rotten, and Mean Girls. Our 2026 production is The Little Mermaid, playing from March 12-14, 2026. More information coming soon.
