Treble Choir - Mixed Choir - Chamber Choir

Concert Choir is for any student wanting to study music through singing. 

After registering for Chamber Choir - CP in Q, students will be placed in the correct ensemble (Treble or Mixed) based on either voice type, auditions from the end of the previous year, or grade level. Freshmen are automatically placed into Treble Choir but have the opportunity to join our Mixed Choir by auditioning at the end of the school year.

 Chamber Choir is an advanced small group of singers who meet during lunch and/or after school. This choir is auditioned for and is not a class as members only meet outside of class time. 

All choir students learn basic vocal technique, music theory, and ear training. Students are expected to perform at several concerts, at OPHS and elsewhere, which may include an adjudicated festival. Participation in Honor Choir and/or Solo and Ensemble are encouraged. Students will be exposed to advanced choral repertoire including world music, masses, major choral works and also Broadway show tunes, screen, holiday and a cappella music. No experience is required!

Important Additional Information

• Honors credit will be rewarded after your first year in Chamber Choir 

• Performances outside and within school hours are mandatory

• Coming to class prepared with your music and pencil is a must

• Practice at home is expected so that the progress made in class can be maintained
