Dear Parents,
To support a rich, hands-on art experience that introduces students to a variety of materials and techniques, I am sharing a voluntary list of suggested personal art supplies that students may use throughout the year. Having personal supplies can help students work more independently, practice skills consistently, and fully engage in projects both in class and, if they choose, at home.
Please know that all students will be able to fully participate in art class regardless of whether they are able to bring these supplies. Classroom materials and shared resources will always be available, and no student will be excluded from any activity or assignment.
Families who are able and wish to contribute are encouraged to do so, as personal supplies can help students take greater ownership of their work and extend their creativity beyond the classroom.
A suggested supply list is included below. These materials will begin to be used in class starting Thursday, January 15.
In efforts to support local business-
Graphaids, a local art store in the area, has been extremely helpful by providing a vendor source. They have also agreed to give all Medea Creek Art students a 30% discount (on non-sale items and 10% on books). You may purchase your supplies wherever you wish. This vendor is provided for your convenience in response to parent requests for a vendor source.

They have been kind enough to set up a display with a sign that reads something along the lines of “MCMS Students” so that you can find everything in one place without hunting around the store.

Also, some parents have inquired about making a donation to the art department for additional general supplies. It pleases me greatly to know that there are patrons of art here at MCMS! If you wish to do so, please send a check to class with your child made payable to MCMS-OPUSD with ART DONATION marked in the memo line. The will be logged and forwarded to the office.

9x12 sketchbook (70 pages or more- about 60-70 lb paper weight)
4x5.5" linoleum speedycut speedball carving block (for printmaking) *or similar size- must be linoleum.
*Wood backed linoluem blocks are more difficult to carve on, so try and find ones WITHOUT the wood backing.

White or Light colored "Plain Shirt". We will be designing and cutting original stencils. These will be Sprayed onto the T-Shirts to take home. Choose a size and color that you like. No Dark Colors Please.
