Animation
Class Overview
Animation is a filmmaking technique by which still images are manipulated to create moving images. In this course, students will be introduced to the CREATIVE PROCESS and CONCEPTS involved in creating an animation. Students will learn about the history of animation and also the various approaches to creating animation including frame by frame, CG, and Stop Motion. The students will gain skills required to move through the ANIMATION PIPELINE with creativity, insight and teamwork. The students will draw, collaborate, develop stories, share ideas, build, compile, and create. Each week, the students will see a variety of animated shorts to build their media literacy. In addition, the SOFT SKILLS required to work in this industry will be indrocued, discussed, and practiced.

Class Hardware and Software:
ipad Pro with apple pencil
Adobe Fresco
Stop Motion
Procreate
Mac Desktop Computers (with Adobe Animate)
Student Supplies: DAILY
Students should bring in a 5x7 or 8x10 "Sketchbook" of their choice. This can have blank, graph or lined paper. WE WILL BE DRAWING A LOT! Having a designated Animation notebook to hold all of our drawings and ideas will help us stay organized!
Headphones! Corded or wireless OK 👍 Bring to class daily.
Chromebook *CHARGED*. Having your chromebook in class is helpful for ideas, tutorials, etc.
