Quinn:

I like to draw and paint because you can can express yourself on a piece of paper and call it art and make money. What makes me an artist artist is I express my creativity and my ability to express it. That's what makes me an artist.

Reid:

I don't really have an inspiration to paint, I’ve always just enjoyed it. I’ve always loved how I can use art as a window into my imagination. I’d say I’m an artist because of my creativity.

Gabby:

Art. I love that I am able to express myself in other ways, because talking and other forms of expression isn't always available and art is. I also love the colors that are incorporated and being able to see all the artwork and the color and themes that each artist use. I believe that using my own technique and creativeness makes me my own artist and makes me unique.

Audrey:

I think nature really inspires me to draw. I like looking at nature because of the vibrant colors. What I like about art is that there aren’t a lot of rules. In art, you are free to use your imagination to create what you want.

Navya:

Art is always a unique process filled with multiple ups and downs, the good and the bad. I always was inspired to create art because it allows for a form of expression speaking verbally does not. I love art for the process, the satisfying or not so satisfying result, and the freedom. To make a blank page come to life. I am an artist for experiencing the process, not for having amazing art but how I keep coming back and trying to grow.

Chloe:

I like how fun and relaxing painting and drawing is. I think it's great that you can be creative and there's no limit to what you can do. It's a way to show how you feel and your imagination.

Nik:

Some of the reasons why I like to draw and paint is the freedom you have to express yourself or how you feel onto a piece of art. Another reason why I like art is because there really are no rules and you can change how you want to draw your project to your liking. Lastly, I like the ability to feel how someone is feeling through their artwork and being able to show themselves with just a simple drawing.

Shrila: I love how I can express my personality and how I feel through Art. Art helps me open the creative part of my mind. There are no boundaries in art and I can draw whatever I choose to do.

Sophia:

The feeling of accomplishment is what inspires me to draw and paint. It’s very satisfying to work for so long on a piece and finally finishing it. Overall, I find creating art to be very stress-relieving and fun.

I get inspired by other artists. I love being able to express myself. I’m an artist because I enjoy creating.

I am inspired to draw and paint by current books I am reading, or movies I am watching. I am also inspired by emotions and how they affect us in our daily lives. I love the ability to express myself through art. What makes someone an artist, including me is creating something new using my own hands and imagination.

Makenna:

I love to paint and draw because it brings joy to me and also helps me relax and meditate. It also helps me get better and better because I feel like every time I draw or paint, I learned something new or I fixed something that I can do better so I can do that in my next painting or drawing. I love that you can be yourself in art and just do things your way in art. You can be unique and do things the way that you want to do them.

Katarina:

The reasons why I love to draw or paint is because its peaceful. Peaceful means quiet, beauty, and creativity. Art helps you be in your own little world because sometimes life is a mess and having this world makes you feel comfort.

Shawdi:

Plenty of subjects inspire me to create art. Music is probably my biggest inspiration. When I hear a song that I enjoy, I feel like I can accomplish anything I put my mind to. Another inspiration is my surroundings. I will draw something depending on the mood and what’s around me.

Elena: What inspires me to draw or paint is the ability to express my emotions. I love that about art i think it’s so amazing that you could express yourself or how you feel with a paintbrush or a pencil. What makes me an artist is my uniqueness that no one has and that every piece of art that i make is different and has it’s own meaning.

Ailee: Life inspires me to draw and paint. I love depicting the simple things in life in my artwork such as nature, kitchen objects, or human facial features. I think it’s great that every piece that I create is unique to my own and that art is an outlet for me to express myself or how I’m feeling. I believe that my effort and determination make me an artist.

Eilan: I draw when I find something cool and it looks fun to draw. For example when I draw something from a video game it is fun because I play that game. Also I like to draw when I am bored.

Ellior: I draw and paint because its fun to have a project going on and when I am done I can reflect on what I did and try to fix it. I love improving after every drawing or painting I do.

Christian: I love drawing and painting because I can express myself and show someone else what I feel. I find it amazing to take something from my mind and be able to put it on a piece of paper. Seeing the final product is also great because it is an amazing feeling that you just did that. Overall I’m happy I have this talent and be able to be doing what I’m doing.

Lincoln: I like how art is very different from other means of expression and communication in a lot of different ways. Art can be used to portray an emotion, idea or message in a way that isn’t always right in front of you. While words can be used to explain, persuade, and defend ideas, art is used to show an idea. What i love about art is that anyone with an idea can be an artist; and your idea can mean something different to different people.

Riley: I have always loved drawing ever since I was very little. I love reading, especially about fictional worlds and characters, which is why I have always liked doing portraits. Drawing characters that I love has always allowed me to bring those worlds to life. I enjoy the way that art makes me feel. It has always made me feel calm, but at the same time excited. Expressing myself in ways that make me happy makes me an artist.

Tanisha: I enjoy the freedom that comes with art, the fact that you can make mistakes and either fix it or change it into something else. The possibilities of the things you can make are endless, as well as different techniques. I enjoy the creativity aspect most.

Shawn: Nature inspires me to draw and paint. I also just have a lot of fun with it and I am not focused on looking good just to have fun.

Kennedy: There are a couple things that inspire me to draw and paint like nature and movies I grew up with. I’ve always loved art and I was always around it since my dad loves it too, but what I love about art is being able to express myself through it as well as the fact it is a fun pass time. I think the fact I create and enjoy creating is what makes me an artist.

Malia: I am inspired to create art by things around me, like elements of nature or still objects. I am also inspired by photos that I take or pictures that I find online and try to replicate them using a different form of media. I was also inspired by my aunt to do art because she had taught me everything I knew about art from a young age.

Leo: The main thing I love about art is the expression and the creativity. I love this because I can create anything I want and just have fun with it. It is also a reliever because when I am stressed or want to take my mind off something I can help me.

Evelyn: I like how calming art is. It’s very easy to get lost in your drawing/painting and I enjoy it. Anything can really inspire me to draw/paint, it just depends on how motivated I am that day. I think anyone can be an artist and can be good at it.

Emerson: I love making art for many reasons. One of the main reasons is being able to express yourself in many different ways that words may not be able to. I also love how you can be creative in many different ways (Ex: Painting, Collage, Sculpting, Drawing, ect). What makes me an artist is expressing myself through my art, being creative and original, and enjoying what I do. I love making art and It really does make me happy and gives me a way to express myself and be creative.

Vincent: I don't know I just think art is kind of cool. Plus it's fun to do and I like the way that it turns out around 30% of the time. I also can’t animate without knowing how to draw, and the paint tastes good.
