Department leads or individuals with a specific interest in Generative AI.
Power users: Champions are often those who are already using ChatGPT extensively and want to help drive AI adoption.
Champions can come from all levels of the organization: This role is open to anyone, offering a valuable opportunity for individuals at any level to contribute to the organization’s AI initiatives.
Key qualities
A willingness to support the ongoing ChatGPT efforts within the organization.
Eagerness to democratize AI by involving colleagues from diverse backgrounds and departments.
Remember that champions are selected based on their enthusiasm and expertise, regardless of their current position within the company!
To avoid limiting the role to senior leaders, offer employees the opportunity to apply to be a champion. It's often not obvious who your champions are or where they sit within the organization.
Steps to identify the best champions:
Create a lightweight application form
Promote the opportunity across departments to help surface passionate employees who may not have high visibility but are well-suited to drive AI initiatives.
This approach will help ensure that champions are selected based on their enthusiasm and expertise, regardless of their current position within the company.
Once your champions have been identified, create a dedicated space. A Slack or Microsoft Teams channel is ideal for fostering this type of community, allowing champions to collaborate, exchange ideas, and help others make the most of ChatGPT.
