Passaporte Literário Takes Off
The Passaporte Literário project has officially launched, and OLM staff members were the first to take part. Passports in hand, faculty and staff are now setting out on a reading journey that will take them through stories, authors, countries, and cultures from around the world.
The initiative is built on a simple premise: reading habits start with example. When adults are seen reading, sharing what they discover, and surrounding themselves with books, they send a clear message to children and young people: that reading isn't a school assignment, but a natural part of everyday life.
Passaporte Literário
O projeto Passaporte Literário foi oficialmente lançado e os funcionários da OLM foram os primeiros a participar. Passaporte em mãos, a equipe já está embarcando em uma jornada de leitura que vai levá-los por histórias, autores, países e culturas do mundo inteiro.
A iniciativa se apoia em uma premissa simples: o hábito da leitura começa pelo exemplo. Quando os adultos são vistos lendo, compartilhando suas descobertas e cercados de livros, eles transmitem uma mensagem clara às crianças e aos jovens: a de que ler não é uma tarefa escolar, mas parte natural do dia a dia.
New Faces, New Voices
With the start of a new School year, OLM's library has welcomed a wave of new faces and new readers. We spoke with some of them to hear their first impressions of the library, the kinds of stories that interest them most, and what they're hoping to discover in the year ahead.
Inês Oliveira-Rocha - 6th Grade A
What do you like most about our library?
I am new to the School, and I love coming to the library because it has lots of books, and I love reading. Here in the library, we can draw, color, play games, and read. I love doing all of this, and I love staying here during recess. I think the library is a very big space and has lots of books, so we can learn or even have fun.
What is your favorite book you’ve read since you joined our School?
My favorite book so far has been A Pirâmide Vermelha, by Rick Riordan.
If you could add one thing to our library, what would it be?
I think it is already very nice here, but I would add more things for us to draw.
Alice Ribeiro - 7thGrade A
What do you like most about our library?
I think it’s very big, and it’s nice and cool. The temperature is good, you know? It has a lot of books, and I thought that’s really cool. I like playing during recess.
What is your favorite book you’ve read since you joined our School?
For now, I’ve only picked up a book for the English activity.
If you could add one thing to our library, what would it be?
Bean bags.

Novos Rostos, Novas Vozes
Com o início de um novo ano letivo, nossa biblioteca ganha novos rostos, novas histórias e, claro, novos leitores! Conversamos com alguns deles para conhecer suas primeiras impressões sobre a biblioteca, seus interesses e suas expectativas para este novo ano de descobertas.

O que você mais gosta na nossa biblioteca?
Sou nova na escola e adoro vir à biblioteca porque ela tem muitos livros, e eu adoro ler. Aqui na biblioteca, podemos desenhar, colorir, jogar e ler. Eu adoro fazer tudo isso e adoro ficar aqui durante o recreio. Acho que a biblioteca é um espaço muito grande e tem muitos livros, então podemos aprender ou até mesmo nos divertir.
Qual é o seu livro favorito que você leu desde que entrou na nossa escola?
Meu livro favorito até agora foi A Pirâmide Vermelha, de Rick Riordan.
Se você pudesse acrescentar alguma coisa à nossa biblioteca, o que seria?
Acho que aqui já é muito legal, mas eu acrescentaria mais coisas para podermos desenhar.

Acho ela bem ampla, bem geladinha, é boa a temperatura, sabe? É bem cheia de livros, achei muito legal. Eu gosto de jogar durante o recess.
