Meet the Educator Evening
We cordially invite you to our in-person Open House (Meet the Educator) evening. We will be hosting this event on Thursday, September 18th from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. It’s an opportunity for families to visit the school and see their child’s classroom.

Pizza Orders
The School Council is very pleased to offer the pizza lunch program from Domino's again this year. Pizza orders can be made on School Cash Online starting today until Monday, September 22nd.
Term 1 pizza will begin on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025 and run until January 28th, 2026 (16 weeks)
Requests for orders after Monday, September 22nd will unfortunately not be possible.
Popcorn Orders
Papa Jack popcorn is back! Parent council is pleased to offer Popcorn Fridays (except for October 10th - that will be delivered on October 9th). Popcorn will be $2.00 a bag per week. Choose your flavour for the term on School Cash Online. Flavours available are Butter, White Cheddar, Sweet & Salty or Kaboom. - Total cost $16.00 for this Term.
Term 1 Popcorn (8 weeks) runs from October 3rd - November 21st
Orders must be in by September 22, 2025; no late orders will be accepted and all orders are final.
Parent Council
Our first Council meeting of the year will take place on Tuesday, September 23rd at 5:30 pm. This will be an in-person meeting to take place in the school’s learning commons (library). Our St. Luke Nepean Parent Council is always looking for new parents to join, volunteer, or to simply give input at meetings

Power Play Multi-Sports Camp
This year marks the 21st year that Barrhaven hosts a sports camp in the evenings for students in grades 2-6 and the second year that it will be offered at St. Juan Diego. PowerPlay Multi-Sports Camp offers 24 weeks of specialized skill development in volleyball, basketball, badminton and soccer on Tuesday nights. Amazing 3:1 student to instructor ratio. Volunteer
If you plan to volunteer at St. Luke Nepean this upcoming year (ie. field trips, sporting events, events in the school etc) a Vulnerable Sector Check is required for anyone to volunteer in a school, including parents. To apply to volunteer in any of our OCSB schools click on this link for instructions. (Summary of Steps Below)
STEP 1: Request the letter for the Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC). VSCs are free with a VSC request letter from our Volunteer Coordinator. Please request the letter from volunteers@ocsb.ca.
STEP 2: Using the Letter from the Volunteer Coordinator, apply for the Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) through the Ottawa Police
STEP 3: Complete our volunteer application. Complete the online application you received with the Volunteer request letter. Then, include an electronic copy of your Vulnerable Sector Check. This typically takes one week to process. Once you’ve been added to our approved list of volunteers you will receive an email confirmation.
When applying, please specify that you would like to volunteer at St. Luke Nepean. If you have any questions, please email volunteers@ocsb.ca.

To keep volunteering, you will need to complete our annual offence declaration survey. This survey takes less than a minute to complete and will allow you to keep volunteering without submitting a new Vulnerable Sector Check. You will receive the offence declaration from ocsb.surveys@ocsb.ca. Check your spam folder if you don’t receive it!
